Condition monitoring of roller bearings using acoustic emission

چکیده

Abstract. Roller bearing failures in wind turbines' gearboxes lead to long downtimes and high repair costs, which could be reduced by the implementation of a predictive maintenance strategy. In this paper within context, an acoustic-emission-based condition monitoring system is applied roller test rigs with aim identifying critical operating conditions before occurs. Furthermore, comparison regarding detection times carried out traditional vibration-based systems, focus on premature such as white etching cracks. The investigations show sensitivity acoustic-emission towards lubricating conditions. addition, has shown that damaged surface can detected at least ? 4 % (8 h, time failure) earlier than using system. significant deviations from average signal were up 50 (130 h) stop are possibly related sub-surface damage initiation might result future.

Condition Monitoring of Rotating Machinery using Active Magnetic Bearings

The concept that changes in the dynamic behaviour of a rotor could be used for general fault detection and monitoring is well established. Current methods rely on the response of the machine to unbalance excitation and are mainly based on pattern recognition approaches. However these methods are relatively insensitive and the crack must be large before it can be robustly detected. Active magnet...

Flexural monitoring of carbon fiber/epoxy composite by acoustic emission

Carbon / epoxy composite is one of the most useful polymer matrix composites that has special properties such as high strength-to-weight ratio, high hardness, high corrosion resistance, Resistance to nuclear radiation has high consumption in different industries such as aerospace industry. Therefor monitoring of loading of this type of composite is important. In order to determine failure mecha...

Mechanical Seal Opening Condition Monitoring Based on Acoustic Emission Technology

Since the measurement of mechanical sealing film thickness and just-lift-off time is very difficult, the sealing film condition monitoring method based on acoustic emission signal is proposed. The mechanical seal acoustic emission signal present obvious characteristics of time-varying nonlinear and pulsating. In this paper, the acoustic emission signal is used to monitor the seal end faces just...
